    Course details

  • Recommended Prior Knowledge

    -

  • Objectives

It is intended that after the attendance of this course unit, students acquire skills and competences in the subject of Oil & Gas Structures:

    (i) description of main onshore production units,

(ii) description of main offshore production units,

(iii) Concepts of Oil & Gas project, (iv) fundamentals of Construction and installation of Oil & Gas.

  • Teaching Methods

The theoretical component of the program will be taught the theoretical and practical lessons in the classroom and in e-learning environment, accompanied, whenever possible, by the resolution of practical examples. In the practical component will be done the accompaniment of the students in the resolution of the proposed practical examples.

    1. Onshore production units.
    2. Offshore production units (FPSO, TL, SS, WHP and DHP, Subsea infrastructure).
    3. Introduction to Oil & Gas project.
    4. Fundamentals of Construction and installation of Oil & Gas.

  • Content Explanation

Syllabus showed in 3.3.5. just fit to learning outcomes exhibited in 3.3.4. by the following correspondence: 1 with i); 2 with ii); 3 with iii); 4 with iv).

  • Methodology Explanation

The teaching methods include theoretical and practical classes. The theoretical lectures use a strategy of exposure in the classroom and in e-learning environment with the aim of passing concepts, definitions and mechanisms of interpretation of the problems. it is intended to transmit to the students the knowledge to the pursuit of the curricular unit objectives. The teaching methods also include practical lectures that use a strategy to solve problems, individually or in groups of students, with the monitoring of the teacher. it is intended that the student acquires the competence to understand, describe and relate the knowledge. The system of continuum evaluation through the tests has been established for a assessment monitored throughout the semester of the acquired competencies. The evaluation by final examination allows to measure if the competencies of knowledge integration were achieved.
