  • Course objectives

    The Master's Degree in Education, Artistic Practices and Inclusion is a cross-disciplinary training program that is designed to meet the need to train qualified professionals to work in the social, cultural and artistic realities of the region, through a versatile professional profile with skills to understand, conceptualize, act, research and implement educational projects for populations of different age groups and in different social, cultural and artistic facilities.
    The Master's Degree is an innovative training program with interdisciplinary knowledge, for a deep and dynamic understanding of the relationships between education, development, arts and inclusion. Its objectives are to promote:
    - Understanding the interdependencies between Education and Development in Contemporary Society;
    - Civic and community participation, through knowledge and enjoyment of artistic and cultural offerings;
    - The construction of artistic and cultural projects with schools, social organizations and other entities, involving community facilities;
    - The development of critical thinking and creativity as fundamental tools for understanding and building the world; - The development of inclusive and intergenerational educational projects/dynamics, mobilizing artistic and pedagogical practices;
    - The construction of research/intervention projects with a view to developing professional, civic and learning communities of a transdisciplinary nature.

    The course aims to develop professional skills to intervene in the social, cultural, and artistic realities of the region, enabling the understanding, conceptualization, action, investigation, and operationalization of educational projects for populations of various age groups and in different social, cultural, and artistic facilities.

  • Recognition of prior learning

    Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

  • Admission and entry requirements

    Specific entry requirements (art. 3 of Legislative Decree no. 74/2006, as amended by Legislative Decree no. 65/2018)
    a) Graduates in basic education, educational sciences, education and training, cultural animation, socio-cultural animation, social work, social education, arts;
    b) Educators, teachers and graduates in other fields of social sciences, humanities and arts;
    c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree recognised by the academic body of the higher education institution as a degree in the above-mentioned fields;
    d) holders of an academic, scientific, artistic or professional curriculum recognised by the academic body of the higher education establishment as attesting to their ability to complete this cycle of studies.
