The Integrated Quality Management and Assurance System (SIGGQ) aims to contribute to improving the quality of the services provided by the IPS, particularly with regard to educational offerings and activities related to research, development, and the transfer of knowledge and technology.
In accordance with the provisions of the Quality Policy and Quality Manual, the SIGGQ follows a process-based approach and includes a structure tailored to the organizational context, which identifies the responsibilities of the various bodies and services, as well as the involvement and responsibilities of students and other stakeholders in the quality assurance processes.
This structure includes a Coordination Unit, which coordinates the overall monitoring and evaluation of the system with the SIGGQ Continuous Improvement Unit. The system also includes six local continuous improvement units (in the five schools and the Social Services), as well as Scientific and Pedagogical Management Units for the Academic Programs (Monitoring and Evaluation Committees) in each of the schools.
The Continuous Improvement Unit of the Barreiro School of Technology (UMC-ESTB) aims to ensure the implementation of the quality mechanisms and processes set forth in the SIGGQ, as described in the IPS Quality Manual, in coordination with the Organizational Development Unit (UDO) and the IPS Quality Council.
