The Pedagogical Council (Section IV, Articles 19, 20, 21, and 22 of the ESTBarreiro/IPS Bylaws) is the pedagogical management body of ESTBarreiro/IPS.
Skills
The Pedagogical Council is responsible for:
- Draft and adopt its rules of procedure;
- To provide input on pedagogical guidelines and teaching and assessment methods;
- Promote the conduct of regular surveys on the pedagogical performance of ESTBarreiro/IPS, as well as the analysis and dissemination of the results;
- Promote the evaluation of faculty members’ teaching performance—by both the faculty members themselves and their students—as well as the analysis and dissemination of the results;
- Review complaints regarding pedagogical shortcomings and propose the necessary measures to the Director;
- To approve the regulations governing the evaluation of student performance, after consulting the Technical and Scientific Council;
- To rule on the statute of limitations;
- To provide input on the creation of academic programs and on the curricula for those programs;
- To express an opinion on the establishment of academic awards;
- To provide input on the academic calendar and exam schedule for ESTBarreiro/IPS;
- Review the educational activities component of the activity plan;
- To rule on all matters submitted to it by the Director, either on its own initiative or at the initiative of the competent bodies of the IPS;
